Of course women are celebrated on Women's day but it's only fair that we celebrate them every single day, for they rightly deserve it. We have always had the privilege to come across great women in our lives, starting right with our moms, sisters, and many more. It's not just our duty to remember and salute them for who they are and what they've done but also to ensure that the world is a safer place for them.

Like they say, "A beautiful woman draws strength from troubles, smiles during distress and grows stronger with prayers and hopes"  

It's time we made the world, a better place for our women to live in, sans any worries. After all women are the sole reason for life.

More women watching online porn in India!

When it comes to watching porn online, women are slowly bridging the gap in India with as much as 30 percent of women in India now regularly visiting porn websites, says a new study.

Last year, 26 percent Indian women were online searching for porn.

While lesbian porn was found to be the runaway hit among women, women across the globe are also watching more "hardcore" acts than men, revealed the study done by popular general interest website Pornhub in collaboration with New York-based news website, The Daily Beast.

The data came from nearly 40 million Pornhub users.

Compared to the worldwide average of 24 percent female porn viewers -- an increase of one percent over the previous year, the Philippines and Brazil took the lead with 35 percent female viewers.

India and Argentina came in a close second with 30 percent female porn viewers.

Using high-tech analytics software, the study revealed that women are also more selective than men when it comes to online porn viewing.

"Women are spending more time watching porn - a worldwide average of 10 minutes and 10 seconds compared to men at just nine minutes and 22 seconds," the results showed.

Japan presented the largest proportional gap between male and female porn viewers (83 percent male and 17 percent female).

Women in the US ranked pretty low (23 percent women and 77 percent male).

Nearly 24 percent of women in France visit online porn websites regularly.

Earlier, global research firm Pew Research Centre in 2013 surveyed the online viewing habits of 1,003 Americans and found that 25 percent of men admitted to watching porn in comparison to eight percent of women.

The society that is!!

The Rohtak women, and many others, have shown immense courage despite the subtle and subliminal messaging that girls internalize as they grow up - of somehow feeling ashamed and guilty when men abuse and violate them. I'm sure many girls were told to be conservative as they grow up so that they don't attract unwanted male attention. They were also taught to avoid conversations with men to the possible extent. All this did not help as most girls even at a very young age endure many boys and men fondling them - dressing in a way isn't the reason for abuse. What with an infant getting abused! It all lies with the mindset of the man who is at fault. It sure does not foster pride and love for those girls. They do not feel comfortable in it or about it.

So, speaking up as the Rohtak girls did should be part of the narrative of raising girls - not advocating vigilantism and beating up men or raising women to think of men as their adversaries here. Nor is that a solution to the problem, although the symbolism of the Rohtak girls' actions sends a strong and timely message.

The media will highlight these heroines once in a while, but abuse happens every day. The solution is therefore telling our girls and boys every day how beautiful, precious and inviolable their bodies are. It is not an easy task to make girls feel comfortable in the society at large. Our girls must be told their bodies are for them to be proud and happy about, and cannot be touched or commented upon by anyone without their consent.

The solution is therefore to raise our girls and boys more fairly and equitably. So they do not stand by just watching the next time anyone is subjected to harassment and step up every time to help that girl or woman who is in need. So they applaud the one who raised his or her voice at her treatment. Let's take back India from men who terrorize women without punishment.

There are certain qualities in men that women absolutely dig.

It's not just about being tall, dark and handsome. There are certain 'manly' qualities about guys that can make any woman go weak in her knees. And while you may think it's all about the looks, guess what? There's more. It's a potent mix of both, physical attributes and of course, that all important emotional touch. Well groomed
Yes, we said tall but the reality is that height is really not as important a factor as how you present yourself. Just like guys like a women who is well turned out, women too dig guys who ensure that they are perfectly groomed a la Leonardo DiCaprio. The basic funda women believe in is that if you are careful enough to take care of yourself, they can trust you to take care of them. So, remember guys, sloppy dressing, uncombed hair, dirty nails, smelly socks, stained shirts or jeans and the likes are an absolute no-no when you are trying to make that all important impression on someone from the opposite sex.

A sense of style
Women would rather have you splurging on them than on obscenely priced designer wear. So, even if it's a typical roadside purchase that you swear by, make sure you adopt a certain classy and stylised look and maintain it. Women don't really expect you to be a picture copy of a Pierce Brosnan or a David Beckham, but trying to imitate their style will surely up your popularity quotient. Keep yourself updated on the latest trends. Also, just as you have your reservations against the 'nun-type' dressers, women too hesitate when it comes to the boring office type dresser.

Laugh it out
One of the most important trait that woman dig is a sense of humour. Women have more than enough problems to deal with and don't really need the company of another equally depressed soul. Yes, you have your bad days, but it does go a long way if you have a good sense of humour, and clean humour at that. Beware, taking a dig at others and constantly putting others down do not really spell fun for women. And we can't tell you enough how much women love people who can laugh at themselves and their own mistakes.

Show them you care
Women need to be constantly reassured that they are loved and cared for. Acts like holding their hand while walking down the road, watching the sunset, an occasional hug and peck on the cheeks and making sure that they cross the road safely mean that you are proud to be seen with them and care for them. Remember, not displaying your affection openly is a sign that you are ashamed of who you are with. However, beware of being crass while displaying you affections.

A sexy smile/wink
There's a reason why women absolutely adore Richard Gere or Hugh Jackman and it has a lot to do with the way that they smile or that glint in their eyes. Believe us when we tell you that if you look at them and smile like that, it does make them feel very special, like they are one in a million.

Be calm
Woman are known to be harrowed and frenzied. Yes, they do tend to get hyper very easily and that is the precise reason why you need to be the calming factor in their lives. It really doesn't help if you too get stressed out or fly off the handle at any and every incident. Your sex appeal lies as much in your looks as it does in your attitude - women dig guys with a cool and peaceful attitude, the one who is able to calm them down and reassure them that all is well.

Sun Film ban- a shocker from SC

BPO employee gangraped in moving car in Gurgaon. Minor gang-raped in moving car in Greater Noida. Teenager abducted, gang-raped in car by landlord. MBA graduate allegedly gang-raped in car.  Woman gang-raped in car, dumped in south Delhi. Minor girls kidnapped on cars for trafficking.

An alarming rise in heinous crimes like sexual assault on women, kidnapping and dacoity seen increasing each passing day have impinged upon the right to live in a safe environment. All these project the poor state that our society is currently in. And worse, there hasn’t been any stopping even after numerous reforms and measures of safety and protection. The public aren’t as safe as they are assured to be. One such move that recently came in was the ban on sun film usage on cars throughout the country all at once. The government claims that this ban is meant to curb crimes committed using the opacity of sun film as a cover, though the advantage of sun film in this tropical nation cannot be ignored.

The Supreme Court of India banned* the use of sun-protection film based on ‘crime-on-wheels’ cases of recent times, citing shortage of policemen and the scarce availability of special devices which can measure the opaqueness of vehicle windows. However, there is no ban on the use of tinted glass with the same visual light transmission (VLT) level. Nor is there a ban on the use of curtains. Though recent claims of a case to be filed over ban on curtains and window shades are heard around.

Apparently, this has had an adverse effect on general public who have found the going very tough and disturbing. This ban is seen as unjustified and irrational by many who feel that this is yet another drive which would subside after a while.

If the verdict could actually help in bringing down the crime-rate, people shouldn’t complain about a little discomfort. However, this doesn’t seem to make much of a difference to the crime scenario. Rather the general mass is hit badly due to ever rising mercury. Sun Film industry worth Rs.150 crore is left in jeopardy. In addition to the rising cost due to over conusmption of fuel for AC workload, transparent windows lead to passengers being seen clearly, inviting unwanted attention of bikers and commuters. Far from protecting women; it only exposes them to more sexual harassment. And targeting cars with lone drivers for miscreants will thus become easier. Also a good view of the car’s interior increases the chances of burglary.

If the ruling does stand and the implementation is firm, then the logical step for all the auto manufacturers would be to provide tinted glasses within permissible limit of visibility at a premium. Also extend it to after-market for the current running cars. Further, special vigilance on stray cars, beefing up of Highway and city patrolling system, CCTV cameras, are certain other options to try and negate the crimes but is still a question of How and Where??? In lieu of giving a safer environment, the government has given a verdict which has rather caused a major concern among public which needs to be addressed immediately with a proper system.

Banning sun film use, asking women to avoid night outs, asking them to avoid provoking attire that calls for rape aren’t solutions. What we are witnessing is the government being reactive to law and order problems while what is required is a pro-active approach in eliminating the root cause of crimes. Easier said than done of course, but then isn’t the government meant for that!!!

Meanwhile women can wear burka if they are uncomfortable being ogled at.

# “I travel every day about 50 kms from home to office. Most of the private school buses, buses, infant travel vehicles have not yet removed the tint. On the other end I can now easily see who is in the other car and I can watch their move, see when the lady applies lipstick and when she combs her hair because the glass is transparent. Thanks to SC and RTO who gave us the opportunity to watch all this and get entertained on the road.”

# “Ironically, it remains the case that someone could draw the curtains, install detachable sun-protection shades, or tint his car windows – all of which are still permissible under the law – and rape someone in his car to his loins’ content.”
